1. In what ways does your media product use or develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Firstly, on the cover, contents and double page spread of my music magazine, I have made it clear that I have included the regular codes and conventions which would be expected to be seen from a magazine. I have done this by including appropriate images, relevant anchorage text, accurate positioning and the stereotypical aspects of magazines, such as pugs, puffs, slogan lines and sky lines. Additionally, I have documented the improvements and developments which I have made on this blog. For example, I decided to change the positioning and size of the main image on my cover page in accordance to the rule of thirds; showing how I have continuously considered the codes and conventions required to make a successful music magazine.
2. How does your media product represent any particular social group?
By choosing to use the image of a recent, popular, RnB artist as the main image on my cover page, I have made it clear to the audience that the magazine is based around the RnB genre. Therefore, this means that the type of social groups who would recognise this particular artist would be young RnB fans who are up to date with the latest news and gossip regarding this celebrity. Also, the fact that I have included the aspect of technological convergence on the media product further reinforces how it would most likely be a young generation of RnB fans who would relate to the magazine. This is because younger readers would be most likely to become interactive with the product by going online or using the social media apps which relate to the magazine.
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product an why?
I think that Bauer Media would be best to distribute my magazine due to the fact that it is a successful institution which attracts a wide range of audiences and reaches over 22 million UK adults. Additionally, Bauer uses multi-media platforms when distributing their media products, therefore, my magazine would be available in print, on television, social media and even mobile apps. Ideally, an institution which focuses on the RnB genre would also be the most appropriate to distribute my media product. A prime example would be BBC Radio 1xtra due to the fact that their main focus is the the latest RnB artists and they also have a big responsibility of selling their own news articles and tabloids to their listeners. I think this would be an ideal choice as the company has the same target audience as my music magazine.
4. Who would be the audience of your media product?
During this project my aim was to target young males and females, between the ages of 15-25 who are interested in RnB music and RnB celebrities.

I also thought that it was important to see what my target audience thought of my final music magazine product, therefore throughout the process of creating this blog, I asked them to comment any strengths or weaknesses that would be helpful to me.

I like the way that you have used lots of different versions of technology on your evaluation, it makes it more interesting than just reading all the time.
